ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI last year, has been in our lives for about three months as a large language model fine-tuned with both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques. ChatGPT is a specialized prototype artificial intelligence chatbot. This fine-tuned basic model continues to be developed with user feedback in 2023 as an improved version of its predecessor GPT 3. Although it is still in the testing process, ChatGPT, which has already answered the curious questions of millions of people, has attracted a lot of attention on the user front. We have summarised ChatGPT and its use for businesses for you.

How ChatGPT Defines Itself?

ChatGPT defines itself as "a natural language processing model". The description is as follows: "It consists of a large artificial neural network and is a chatbot that can interact with people in a natural language. ChatGPT interacts by providing meaningful and appropriate responses to questions and sentences that people utter. As the model has been trained on billions of words and sentences, it has a large knowledge base on many topics in natural language. The use of ChatGPT has potential applications in language learning, customer service, translation and many other areas".

ChatGPT, which has the ability to interpret questions or information requests based on data, is expected to form an important infrastructure for OpenAI's work for the next model. The application provides detailed answers to questions asked by the user based on machine learning interpretation of data. The reason why the ChatGPT application gives a "network error" warning from time to time is explained as the application receives user requests very frequently and does not allow time to respond. Apart from this, different meanings that have settled in daily speech in a language and are not found in the literature can also cause the same result by the application.

Limitations and Errors of ChatGPT

Large natural language processing models such as ChatGPT are known to produce accurate and consistent results, but they are not without some errors and limitations. There may be some limitations and errors such as inconsistency in answers, providing similar answers to different questions, leaving answers unanswered or giving misleading answers due to words with the wrong meaning, biased interpretations based on biases in the training data, and providing low quality answers on some topics that may require in-depth research and interpretation. These errors and limitations can be found in natural language processing models such as ChatGPT.

How can ChatGPT be used?

The main feature of ChatGPT is to generate answers similar to what people would provide in a text box. Of course, it is also capable of generating stories, poems and more, thanks to its ability to give natural answers to questions in a conversational tone. Therefore, like all chatbots, it is suitable for AI system conversations and virtual assistants, but in addition, it can also produce stories, poems and similar texts at a level close to human creativity. ChatGPT cannot write texts that can reach the creative power of a human being, because it does not have such an interpretation skill because it does not have human emotions, various communication skills such as empathy skills.

ChatGPT's statement on the subject is as follows: "Using the data it receives as input, ChatGPT generates answers or responses that have a similar meaning. However, the texts produced by ChatGPT may not always be completely original or creative. Also, ChatGPT does not have the ability to create a particular voice or style, so texts can often remain cold or objective". ChatGPT cannot transcribe writing in the way a copywriter perceives the world, but it can be used as a copywriter's assistant to summarise ideas, translate, offer suggestions for research, or get insightful answers.

ChatGPT can greatly facilitate work in many areas. It can write code, help create a plan for writing an article or blog post, translate, find mistakes or make simple corrections, be used within limits to write a story or a poem, and even be used to help write chords and lyrics for songs.

Use of ChatGPT for Businesses

Today, businesses have to move customer communication from mass communication to personalized communication. This necessitates the creation, storage, management and interpretation of large amounts of data. In this sense, chatbots ensure that this personalized communication can be carried out in a healthy and continuous manner with data interpretation.

Chatbots can be used by businesses; For the customer response system, it can be used to transfer customers to the relevant departments or departments or to provide information according to the reasons for calling before transferring to the customer representative. ChatGPT, which has potential applications in language learning, customer service, personal assistant, virtual assistant, translation and many other areas, can also be used in many other business applications. For example, it can be used as a chatbot in businesses to generate quick responses for the social media accounts of businesses or organizations. This creates interaction on various platforms such as websites or mobile applications, as if the customer's interlocutor is a human being. The feeling of being offered a personalized service helps the customer to develop positive feelings towards the brand or business or to reinforce their existing positive perception. ChatGPT, which can be programmed to answer users' questions, provide information and even make transactions, also contributes indirectly to brand/organisation communication. Businesses can increase efficiency by using ChatGPT in the sales process, marketing and communication processes, financial area and many other areas besides customer service. ChatGPT can provide bidirectional benefits to customers and businesses in process tracking in many areas such as the process of receiving and tracking customer complaints or requests; order tracking, payments and return processes. ChatGPT, also in the sales process; can quickly answer customers' questions about products; provide price and product information, direct customers to purchase or remind them of products they are already considering purchasing. In addition, ChatGPT can be used in the implementation phase as part of the marketing strategy. It can offer functions such as signposting to appropriate promotions and answering questions about them. Perhaps the most useful aspect of ChatGPT is collecting customer feedback. Feedback is undoubtedly the most important organising element for all processes of an enterprise, from sales and marketing to communication and planning. Customer feedback is a very powerful element in terms of guiding the re-evaluation and reorganisation of strategies. Customer feedback also sheds light on the measurement part of communication and marketing activities. It can help in the improvement of products and services, as well as provide insights and hints about the future of inventory management, production and communication activities.

ChatGPT can be defined as a visionary, versatile tool that businesses can use to increase productivity in many different areas. In this sense, ChatGPT and other Chatbots that can be developed with its inspiration can reduce the customer service costs of businesses; free employees from drudgery or work intensity; increase positive emotions and customer satisfaction and improve service quality and management in many ways. Thus, businesses can achieve a more efficient functioning in many ways. Of course, for this, it is necessary to adopt a visionary management approach that can embrace innovations to facilitate business processes.
